6th Annual Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival

The Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice at St. Paul’s College (University of Manitoba) is home to the Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival, with the goal of nurture the art of storytelling for peace and community-building.

Hannah Taylor, founder of The Ladybug Foundation, is the Honorary Chair of this year’s Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival. For the first time, the 2011 Festival will include a French-speaking component, organized by the Alliance Française du Manitoba.

The French highlights of the festival are:

  • French-speaking junction : Storytelling from Quebec (Lucie Bisson) and France (Aimée de La Salle)
    Thursday, May 12th - Maison Gabrielle-Roy – 7 pm
  • Introduction to the Art of Storytelling : Lucie Bisson (Quebec)
    Friday, May 13th - La Boutique du Livre – 7 pm

    Limited seating. Registration required, call 477-1515
  • Our voices, our stories : Manitoban Storytelling (Dolorès Gosselin and Norman Fleury)
    Saturday, May 14th – Saint-Boniface Museum – 1:30 pm
