JEUDI CINÉMA: The Illusionist
In June, we are taking you on a magical adventure with the Franco-British animated film: The Illusionist. French director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville) turned Jacques Tati’s previously unreleased original script into a visual masterpiece with catchy tunes, making it a tribute to silent films.
We cordially invite you to be our guest for this private screening on Thursday, June 20th, 2013 at 7PM, at Alliance Française du Manitoba.
Winner of the 2011 César Award for best animated feature, The Illusionist belongs to a different genre of cinema with a reinvented approach, a kind of cinematic poetry.
*Screened in French with English Subtitles.

STORYLINE: The Illusionist details the story of a dying breed of stage entertainers whose thunder is being stolen by emerging rock stars. Forced to accept increasingly obscure assignments in fringe theaters, garden parties and bars, he meets a young fan who is going to change his life forever.
