Musical variations between Gérald Laroche (Manitoba) and Gilles Chabenat (France)

In the context of a musical exchange between France and Manitoba ,organized by the French Alliance of Manitoba, Gérald Laroche, musician-storyteller, multi-instrumentalist and Gilles Chabenat, hurdy-gurdy player will conduct a second art creation residence from February 15th to 19th, 2010 in Winnipeg.
The first residence held in November 2009 in France at Les Bains-Douches in Lignières (Région Centre - France). During this period, both artists have laid the groundwork for original musical compositions.
The theme of this travel made the both artists closer: the travels of foresters and mule carriers in Black Valley in the province of Berry and those made by trappers and travelers along the Red River.
The result of this encounter between these two songwriters will culminate with a concert presented on February 21st, 2010 at the Précieux-Sang Church. This will be a world premiere, alongside the Festival du Voyageur. A tour will take place in France in May 2010.
This concert by the French Alliance is a presentation of the CBC and produced with the help of many partners.
